Hi everyone! I know that Microsoft Surfaces have issues with New Box View, but has anyone tried laptops that have touchscreens, that are considered 2-in-1? Do those have issues with grading or do they get around the Surface issue? Thanks in advance!
(To paraphrase another recent post I've made, as I'm lazy but it's related!)
I've not tested 2-in-1 devices specifically, but there is this generic known issue reported about touchscreen devices and Box (let me know if you don't have BtBb access): KI 48010
As per recent-ish discoveries by Andy Ross, markers seem to be experiencing conflicts caused by Microsoft Ink. This functionality will auto-enable on Windows 10 devices with attached USB drawing tablets, or touchpad-type mice (ie. most laptops nowadays), and can also be manually enabled by right-clicking on your taskbar. Even if Ink's not actively being used with Box View it sounds like it can cause problems.
Andy's guidance on this is here. Might well be worth investigating.
Thanks! If it's a Microsoft Ink issue, then it sounds like it won't matter if it's specifically a Surface or not. That's good to know! IT is replacing my Surface with a 2-in-1 so I'll make sure I go in and disable Ink if it's causing problems!
I have a Yoga 260 with a touchscreen, and I don't have problems in "regular laptop" mode. I will admit that I haven't tried using it in tablet mode. Commencement week is not a week for me to try, but if you poke me later to remind me, I'll give it a try.
