I am using padlet in my modules. This was working well but when I now edit the items with padlet, it doesn't work anymore?
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
Esther De Craemer
Instead of this
I am able to integrate this in other learning environments (via the html-code) but in coursesites it doesn't work anymore.
Hi Esther De Craemer
At this time we have had to remove the privilege Add/Edit trusted content with scripts from the Instructor role in CourseSites. This is why you are unable to embed the html code. It is stripped when you save the item.
I don't have any target to reinstate this currently. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.
Was Padlet an LTI option or where you using html?
From what Esther De Craemer has written I would surmise she is talking about the html embed code option. However the point about LTI is a good one. If you have the necessary permissions on your padlet account to get the LTI credentials (see A better way to add Padlet to your LMS ) then you should be able to add it as an LTI tool (https://help.blackboard.com/Learn/Instructor/Course_Content/Create_Content/Add_Content_From_External_Sources#ultra-add-t… ).
I hope this helps and that's a great call-out Carolyn Ponce
Love the fist post on the site. LOL I feel that way sometimes with 3rd party tools. I will look into this. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for the information. I was indeed talking about the html embeded code option. Is te LTI tool option only possible in an ultra course or also in an original course?
You can add LTI tools in Original courses too:
Build content > Web Link
Tick the box for This link is to a Tool Provider
Hi Nathan - I've just been trying this out with our Padlet accounts - which do have the "Add to LMS" option available - but got an error here on CourseSites.
Clicking the title, I get the alert:
Is this expected behaviour here on CourseSites? I am aware that there are some restrictions. Or have I not correctly mapped the Padlet parameters?
Gary Smith I love it when I get a fun problem like this!
Can you try it again now and it should be working? You've found a little bit of niche behaviour which I think I've just remedied by Approving the tool.
Back in the dark ages before it was new CourseSites, the environment was Educator Preview. We didn't allow users to register LTI tools on Educator Preview but we do allow them to register them on CourseSites. However; LTI tools which users attempted to register before we enabled tools which are not explicitly excluded are still in a "Needs Approval" status. Back in early 2018 someone else tried to register the Padlet LTI tool and so it was still awaiting approval.
This is FAD (Functioning As Designed) and I'd view this as desirable.
Hope this helps and let me know if it doesn't fix the issue and I'll dig deeper.
Nathan Cobb Brilliant - that's sorted now, thanks! In fact, it retrospectively repaired the earlier test I'd left in place.
Incidentally, identifying niche behaviours is a bit of a speciality of mine!
Have a great weekend!
