Is it possible to create an adaptive release for only one student? Is it possible to allow access to a course earlier than other students?
I also have another scenario for individual access to a course. We had a student who missed part of last semester due to surgery and then recovering at home (not on campus) who needed access to last semester's course to finish up the work. My options were to make the course available to everyone and then make all of the other classmates unavailable so only he and the instructor had access or make a copy of the course space since it is turned off after the first semester is over, grades reported, etc. and then enroll the student and instructor and probably import his grades from last fall into the grade center, etc. I opted for the first and did it since the roster was not that large (70 or so students) .
Thank you for your response. I'll keep this in mind in case we encounter a similar scenario .
Our student needs advance access so they don't fall behind after they suffered an injury. We just figured things out on our end. We created a group with only that student in it, added the group to an adaptive release membership with an earlier access date, then created a second rule for the adaptive release using the original release time for the rest of the students. We tested this in a sandbox and it seemed to work. I'll know if it really worked in a couple of weeks.
I would add that student as an assistant and give him rights to access the course before the students are allowed to get access.
