I'm teaching online courses. I can go in and see who is logging in and when etc but I need to prepare a document showing attendance for the whole semester for the registrar? how do I do that?
Were you given any guidance on what needs to be reported? Did your course have schedued sessions? Are you supposed to count days of certain activities?
HI Jeff--- just an attendance report for each course showing the days/times that students logged in. Not any more specific than that. Thanks
I would assume you need the times they accessed your course, not just logging in, right? And if they accessed several times in one day? Is this a requirement for all online instructors?
Jeff--- I need the dates/days they logged in as well as the amount of time spent while logged in.
As for your second question: it depends on each instructor's syllabus attendance requirement. No college wide policy as far as I know.
Added details: the attendance report would need to show that a student attended (logged in) on a particular day of the week as well as showing the number of hours spent per week in the BB course.
OK - so there isn't a single report that will generate exactly this information all at once. Probably your best bet will be to run the "Overall Summary of User Activity" report - selecting all students - for each week of your course.
If possible, you might want to contact your Blackboard Administrator to see if they have other guidance.
Many thanks! That is what I was doing... I asked in case an updated way of doing this was available as the Registrar needs a hard copy.
