Hi all, I'm wondering how many folks are using the 2016 Theme. We're still using a modified 2012 theme and are considering updating, especially for mobile responsiveness, but are aware that there had been a lot of problems with the 2016 theme. But it's hard to tell how well Blackboard has fixed those issues with CD updates. We don't want to have to apply and maintain a lot of fixes to the out-of-box 2016 Theme. Any info would be appreciated!
I am aware of this thread: Learn 2016 Theme Issues & Fixes Master List , but since a lot of those folks might not be SaaS clients on the latest version, I don't know how many of those issues still apply.
We're on SaaS CD, currently at 3400.11.0-rel.11+e13ae3e but will be on 3500.0.0-rel.12+330e36a after tonight's update.
Thanks,

Hi Dan,
We rolled out the 2016 theme earlier this year, but it required a lot of tweaking (incorporating many of the suggestions from the thread you mentioned). On top of that, I did a lot of retrofitting to make the look more closely resemble our previous theme (a variant of 2012), and not confuse too many users or introduce too dramatic a change. That may not be necessary in your case. Also, if you're willing to accept the lavender highlights and don't want to change the details of the theme to match to your school colors, you can spare yourself that work as well.
Overall, I think the major issues have been addressed, but there is probably no way to get around the need to do some customization. I'd suggest playing around with it in your Test or Staging environment to see what you think before making a definitive decision. Maybe apply it as the default theme in staging and play around in there as you have a chance.
NOTE: We are SaaS, but we're Flexible Deployment, so we lag a bit behind Continuous Delivery folks. Our next update will be 3400.0.4, which drops on 10/18.
