Maths Editor - use of complex number to solve circuits

Discussion created by westone.services on Jun 21, 2018

Hi,

I have an enquiry regarding using the Maths Editor for complex equations.

In electrical engineering 'Complex Numbers' are frequently used to solve circuits. The quantities consist of a “real” and “imaginary” component and the imaginary part is often labelled as “i” of ‘j’.

We would like to be able to use Blackboard “Calculated Formulas” to solve for current and voltage drops in circuits such as:circuit.jpg

Can anyone advise if it is possible to create such an equation using the Maths editor?

Many thanks,

Gwen
