How do you use data to improve your online program?

Question asked by mh22766 on Jun 15, 2018

Hello Everyone-

As part of a recent accreditation we were asked to implement a plan on using data to do the following:

1. Improve course design

2. Improve student retention/success

3. Look for trends

Currently we pull end of semester data and prepare a end of year report on how well each section performed. We look at pass rates, drop rates and fail rates. We share this with our dept chairs. No action plan based upon the data unless the dept chair requests assistance......which hasn't happened yet.

I would like to see what other schools are doing in regards to using data to improve online learning.

What do you do at your school to use your course/system data to improve your courses and student achievement?

I am looking for processes you use, procedures and policies you have, what you are looking at for data, how you use that data to implement positive change in your courses..............

I am also looking at this from a system/college/dept level vs. instructor level.
