Some of our customers, for GDPR related things, need to migrate the recording stored in Canada servers to Europe servers. They are required by law to store the course recordings for 5 years, but also to store them in a GDPR compliant location.
Is anybody else in this situation?, has Blackboard any contingence plan to resolve this issue?.
Thanks.
Dear Alberto. While we are moving to full regional storage for Collaborate, it's important to point out that Canada is considered an "adequate" country from a GDPR perspective (you can find more information on the list of adequate countries here: Adequacy of the protection of personal data in non-EU countries | European Commission). Storage in Canada therefore complies with the current EU data transfer requirements and those under the GDPR. You can find more information on data transfers in our GDPR white paper which is available at: Blackboard's GDPR Implementation | Blackboard .
