I've been trying to find which areas I need to change in the theme_specific.css to change the background color from #333333 to another color.  I've been doing trial and error themes and I was almost successful but I'm still missing a couple areas.  This is what I have in my mod.css file.  I don't know if some of these are even needed.

/*Change Course menu area to Blue*/
#courseMenuPalette {
    background-color: #005689;
}

#courseMenuPalette div.navPaletteContent {
    background-color: #005689 !important;
}

#courseMenuPalette ul {
    background-color: #005689;
}

#courseMenuPalette .floatedReceipt span {
    color: #005689;
}

.navigationPane {
    height: 100% !important;
    background-color: #005689;
}

.menuWrap {
    -moz-border-radius: 0;
    -webkit-border-radius: 0;
    border-radius: 0;
    -moz-box-shadow: none;
    -webkit-box-shadow: none;
    box-shadow: none;
    border: 0;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    background-color: #005689;
    color: #FFFFFF;
    min-height: 100%;
}

.menuWrap-inner {
    background: #005689;
}

See the attachment for an example of what I have so far.
