For several years we have left student email options "on" by default - so students in a course can email each other, the whole class, etc, unless the instructor turns it off. We are considering changing the default so that students can only email instructors/TAs unless the instructor turns the other abilities on.
What are you guys defaulting to? If you have student ability to email each other turned of by default, does that cause a lot of problems?
We haven't received much instructor feedback on this so I wanted to check what others thought.
