As some of you are probably aware, the University of Groningen uses Blackboard for large scale digital exams. To administer the exams we offer a locked down environment (no access to other courses except the one in which the exam is administered etc) and a simplified view (no global navigation, no course menu). However, the switch to disable the global navigation seems to be ignored in Bb Test pages, starting from 2016Q4 and newer. In other pages, the directive is followed as in other pages.

According to the people on Behind the Blackboard, we should mention this problem on the Community instead of filing a ticket there. Anyone here that can help us resolve the issue? Bb?

The snippet we use in a blackboard.platform.context.ContextHandler to disable the global navigation is as follows:

request.setAttribute(AbstractGlobalNavPageTag.GLOBAL_NAVIGATION, false);

We did find a trick to hide it anyway through the theme, but that means we lose some flexibility and it still appears unreliable.
