In the Discussion Board, is it possible to change the default for viewing discussion posts from List View to Tree View / Expand All?
Currently the first time you enter to a discussion board, the List View is set per default. However, you can toggle it to the Tree View and this selection will remain in effect until you toggle it again. This can be done at any time.

Hope this helps!
Changing to Tree View does not "stick," as the next time I go to the discussion, it's back on List View. I've tried multiple times, both as instructor and student. Any trick to making the default change to Tree View remain?
I just did some test and I saw what you mean, if you go out of the forum and go back, it will show the forum with the List View again. I checked all the Forum and Thread options and unfortunately there is not any part to select the Default View for the Forums (List View or Tree View).
This functionality you need will be good to write in the Shared a brilliant idea here in Blackboard Community.
I've done more research and found there is a known issue that describes this. The view keeps reverting back to List View in a discussions board and it doesn't stick to the previous selection (it should stick as per the Help documentation shared with you in my previous response).
You can get more information this known issue in Behind the Blackboard | Article No.: 000039785
Thanks for researching it, David. It would be nice if Blackboard fixed "known issues" with some regularity and communicated to users about any such fixes before Blackboard devoted resources to developing new features.
OK. It's been over six months since this issue was raised. Any response or fix from Blackboard?
Does someone from Blackboard monitor these discussions? It would be helpful if Bb devoted time and personnel to responding to issues that are raised in these Community discussions.
