Thanks a million to allows us to be up-to-date on the Coursesite platform.
Hey Zuleyner! You're quite welcome. We are super excited to debut the new CourseSites platform.
Do we have a more definite release date? June is going quickly, and I'd like to spend some serious time getting used to the new version before I have to think of starting school again.
Hi Angela! The new CourseSites is set to debut next week. Also, please note you are able to continue to use the original CourseSites platform until the end of 2018. So feel free to embrace this change at a pace that works for you and your students.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
How will I know when the coursesite ultra upgrade is available?
thank you very much ...
greetings from Mexico
Greetings Fernando! We will be sending an email to all current CourseSites users this week once the new CourseSites platform is ready. Additionally, we will post a message on the CourseSites login page as well as, here, on the Community site.
Good evening, I appreciate the help you have given me before, I am excited using the new image of fieldsites.
I see that the system places us 5 ultra courses and 5 traditional courses, my question is:
Is it possible to create the traditional courses as before, that is to say have saved courses not available?
We understand that we can only have 5 courses available but previously we could have saved courses not available.
thanks I hope you understand me.
Hi Fernando -
It’s a great question. If you have more than 5 courses stored in your original CourseSites account, you are able to export a package for each course. However, you will only be able to have 5 original courses imported into the new CourseSites system at one time. What we recommend is you carry out your live teaching in those 5 courses and then archive the course (or courses) once you’ve finished the term. You can then proceed with saving a copy, bulk deleting the course material in the system, and then restoring a different package into the course system. *Instructions on how to bulk delete course materials can be found here.
In the longer term, as you transition your courses to the Ultra Course View you could use the other course shells available to hold courses you aren’t currently using for live teaching.
I understand it may take some time adjusting to the new system and this may not be the most convenient way of managing long-term archiving, but CourseSites was always intended to promote live teaching. The new CourseSites will offer you lots of benefits; ones in which we couldn't offer in the original CourseSites including regular additions of new features each month to continue to create a dynamic digital learning environment for you and your learners.
I hope this helps to clarify the situation for you and that you are as excited about new CourseSites as we all are.
I logged into the new CourseSites, but I have course shells already there. Two of them are original shells. How do I delete the original shells, so I can create new courses?
You can convert your original shells to Ultra by using the Ultra course preview function. Here is the help article: Ultra Course Preview | Blackboard Help
In short though:
Hope this helps
Thank you very much, your information has been very helpful.
