There is too much unusable whitespace in Learn 9.1 - can we condense content and have settings remembered?

For example, my institution utilizes Crocadoc. When commenting on student submissions there is not much on-screen space once a comment appears.  The submitted document text becomes very small. Meanwhile a quarter of the screen is occupied by whitespace for a small grade bar that is unnecessary until I want to record the score. That bar can be hidden, but it is irritating to have to click the 'hide' arrow between every single paper I grade. There has to be a way to easily cut down on these unnecessary repetitive tasks (hide, unhide, hide, unhide...), or at least to be smarter about how on-screen space is utilized.
