An instructor I worked with tried to upload a PDF file to their course glossary and it come out as 250+ entries of gibberish. Does anyone know how to delete all the entries at once?
Yes, I have a trick. Open an excel tab. In cell A1 type a random word, such as cow. In cell B1 type a random definition such as can give milk. Save the file as a .txt file, tab delimited. Go to your course glossary tool and click Upload Glossary. Click browse course and select your .txt file. MAKE SURE THE FOLLOWING OPPTION IS SELECTED AT THE BOTTOM "Delete all Glossary Terms and Replace with the Terms in this File" Click submit. Your glossary will now have 1 item, which you can easily delete.
By the way, I also just told you how to correctly create a file which can be uploaded as the glossary. Excell, use only 2 columns, A is terms, B is definitions, NO HEADERS, save as txt, tab delimited and then upload.
sorry, should have been browse computer, not browse course.
Thanks, that worked
