Is there a way to have a blog post automatically be registered as a complete or a green check mark? Versus an instructor having to go in and manually add the grade.
No, I do not believe so.
You could try setting the column to Complete/Incomplete, but my guess is it'll still register as Needs Grading.
That said, I suspect that if you set it to Complete/Incomplete and then just run down the column entering a score in each cell, you'll get the green checks without having to grade each individual post (which I agree is a pain, having done it).
The problem is that you have no way of knowing *how many* posts a student has entered in their blog, other than zero.
I required my students to blog their progress on their final presentation. Each week I incremented the points possible, and then entered scores proportional to the number of posts (assuming the posts had any real content - had one student just copy/paste each week; no credit for that!) The goal was to keep them on track, moving forward. Took a LOT of cajoling!
