Linking to a Blackboard tab

We have a Support for Staff tab and a Support for Students tab in our Blackboard system. Neither is accessible to guests - only visible to logged in users.

Outside Blackboard we advertise these resources, and link through to the tabs

e.g. Once you are logged in, you can find guides and resources in Blackboard Support for Students

Unfortunately, if you're not already logged in, clicking on that link takes you to the Bb login page and then, once logged in, you're just taken to your default tab - not the Support tab.

We're on 2016 Q2. I have a feeling this was not always the case (but may be misremembering).

It certainly is possible to click on a link to a course or organisation outside Blackboard, and be taken direct to that space (via the login page if you're not already logged in).

Does anyone have a workaround that would enable the user to click on a link to a tab, be taken to the login page, and then redirected to the desired tab?
