Kindly i want to know is there any way rather than the authentication logs to know how many users are using my system now ?
I have a query that scraps the activity accumulator table and count the unique user names in the last 24 hours.
Thank you for your answer,,Can you please give me the query??
My script sets the variable $date and collects the users per course for that day. YMMV...
select ds.batch_uid DSK, count(distinct(AA.course_pk1)) COUNT
from BBLEARN.activity_accumulator AA
join BBLEARN.course_main CM on (AA.course_pk1 = CM.pk1)
join BBLEARN.data_source ds on (ds.pk1 = cm.data_src_pk1)
where AA.TIMESTAMP between to_date('$date 00:00:00', 'MM/DD/YY HH24:MI:SS')
and to_date('$date 23:59:59', 'MM/DD/YY HH24:MI:SS')
group by ds.batch_uid
We use Google Analytics. That's one way you can look at real-time connections.
There's also the pretty old (but still works) Who's Online (OSCELOT Projects > Projects > Who's Online > Home)
And finally, if you are load-balanced, chances are there's some monitoring interface for connections.
Thank you ,, i'll check it and give you the feedback
We also use live event monitoring through Google Analytics. We have lots of events set up on Tag Manager to work out which paths students take, which buttons get clicked etc to better refine our portal content.
I'm just looking at Tag Manager, where do you have the code pasted?
Take a look at bbstats - OSCELOT Projects > Projects > bbStats - Activity Dashboard > Home
Also, the world's very first Building Block provides this information: OSCELOT Projects > Projects > Who's Online > Home
Wow, how'd you know it was the very first?
I was here when it was released, and Santo recently shared with me the back story.
As previously suggested we use a Google Analytics code snippet then Real Time > Overview. Plus it provides a lot of other useful data regarding technologies and geography.
We considered Google Analytics, but were concerned with FERPA issues. We run a local instance of Piwik to avoid any possible problems.
Anyone tried Google Analytics on SaaS platform?
