How can i find degree, grad year and Major of logged in user. What does this 3 terms mean in case of blackboard. Is it there with some different names.
you have not entities for those terms in BLearn. You can implement this in several ways. The most suited I see is to use the institutional hierarchy. You can create the nodes, make the relationships between them, add courses and users to specific nodes.
You can do this using the UI, the SIS Integration Framework or the API.
To follow up from Alberto, there are no user attributes in Blackboard Learn that are specifically named or designed for these particular fields. You can see the list of available user attributes in the GUI (System Admin -> (Users Module) -> Customize User Information). In this interface you can change the label of the field as it is displayed in the GUI, but it will not change the underlying programmatic attribute identifier. At most institutions, most of these fields are not populated and few have any related functionality.
For example, you could rename/re-purpose "company", "department", and "website" to degree, grad year and major. You would then feed that information to those fields when users are created.
