I have a large class and I would like to split it into groups and have different groups work on different assignements.
How can I do that using blackboard?
Adaptive Release is your friend for this. You can specify by student when an assignment will open for them. Once you create the assignment, select edit and chose Adaptive Release. From there you can select the membership that will have access to that assignment. There are advanced options with rules that you can setup up too. I hope this helps.
Thanks, Mark. "Adaptive Release" did the trick. Kassi
It sounds like you're looking for the Groups feature, which allows you to split students into groups. After assigning students into groups, you can then create/edit your assignments to assign them to specific groups. When the assignment is assigned to a group, any of the members can submit an attempt on behalf of the entire group.
Here's the help guide pages on groups and the section of the assignment page that explains how to assign to a group:

Create and Edit Assignments - Blackboard Help
The group assignment tool is also great in that all members of the group can see any instructor feedback and mark up on the assignment. It also allows you to overide the group grade to adjust if someone is not pulling their weight and give individual comments as well.
I found this link for you. I think this works well. Creating a Group Assignment - Blackboard Learn - YouTube
My pleasure; any time.
