What is the maximum number of columns allowed in the Grade Centre? We have a faculty group that wishes to monitor some 350 columns within one course. Is this feasible? Thanks in advance.
I don't know of a hard limit, though perfomance might begin to be an issue with that many columns. It might be a good idea to divide them into grading periods and/or Smart Views to make navigation less of a chore.
FWIW, I've seen courses with a little over 100 columns, and it would be fairly simple to test; create a Group Set with 350 groups in it, and have one marked group activity (such as a group blog worth 10 points). After the groups are created, your grade centre should contain a column per group.
The course was created utilizing a combination of total columns, avg columns, and a multitude of smart views.
If only there was "what if analysis" for columns it would be perfect.
The faculty were happy with phase I.
