Stipend for Online Course Development

Discussion created by kwhetstone on May 26, 2016

Good afternoon,

I hope that you all are doing well. I am gathering some informal data on the “going rate,” so to speak, for what other institutions pay as a stipend to faculty for developing an online course. Just off of the top of my head, I would say $3000 per course would be an average, $5000 an upper limit and $1500-$2000 a lower limit, but I wanted to try and support these numbers with some insight from other institutions. Drawing from your knowledge in the field, would you be able to tell me if you think I am close in my estimation? If your institution has any type of structure that accounts for whether or not it is a new prep, number of credit hours, etc., it would be helpful to hear what other institutions are doing in that area as well. Please feel free to contact me directly.

I would truly appreciate any assistance that you may be able to provide.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Kimarie
