modding Blackboard with JavaScript

We all need to tweak Blackboard from time to time. JSHack and other RenderingHook-based solutions are fantastic, but not every page on Blackboard actually implements RenderingHook. Plus, it's apparently not going to be supported forever. So, we have to improvise. My current workaround for the landing page is to create a separate module containing JavaScript, hide it in the theme using CSS, and then show it again using JavaScript if the user has permission to see it. But this only works on pages that display HTML modules.

Does anybody have better ways to do this? We're a hosted client, so we can't modify the inner workings of the application. It would be fantastic to have a hidden element on every page that could contain whatever JavaScript we this doable via Building Block?
