Instructors creating and/or deleting groups, getting an "access denied" message that says they are not logged in or do not have appropriate privileges. Has anyone seen this before?
Have you eliminated the possibility that someone unchecked this privilege in the manage privileges on the system tab?
We saw that behavior, but managed to track down that it was only happening on a specific application node. Per Bb Support's recommendation, we restarted that node, and the problem went away.
We have that problem and BB support is working on it (has been for several weeks) apparently it had been pointed out but at some point they couldn't replicate it ; now they can, on our platform, because it happens every single time now (we don't use "nodes" so it's not the same issue as Mike for us). Will keep you postedwhen it's solved, at least for us . It's all the way up at Tier3 support level.
I don't think we had that problem before we upgraded to Q4 2015 . Which version are you on Ron Nail ?
Hi Yolene, we are still on the April 2014 version.
Can you explain what you mean when you say you "don't use nodes"? A "node" is a front-end application server running Blackboard. You may have one, or you may have several running behind a network load balancer, but you can't really run Blackboard without one...
at Michael Zimmerman : oh ok, I thought you were talking about institutional hierarchy because they're called "nodes" too (you gather courses in a node and then assign administrators).
at Ron Nail : just got a message from Support : it seems the bug solved itself and they don't know why/how ... if it's not solved on your side, I recommand you make a ticket, and mention my ticket number (Case #02309173 - Can't delete groups / groups setsSeverity: 3 from email@example.com ) and ask for the ticket to be assigned to Garry Harper
Good luck !
Yolene ORS, it's fixed on our side as well. Thanks so much for your help!
