The Blackboard Learn, in the course, tab my institution, module my courses, is it possible the student view the course with the option: 'group by term' select by default, in courses with more than one term.
We had the same problem, if you are Self hosted in Blackboard and has database connection, this information is in the following table:
In the EXTRA_INFO you should add the following code:
<ExtraInfo><property key="amc.showterms" type="String">true</property><property key="amc.groupbyterm" type="String">true</property></ExtraInfo>
For each module (My Courses or My Organiziations)
We are preparing to implement terms on our campus. What release of Learn are you presently on, and does the above snippet of code still work in that release?
just an FYI, it'd pretty risky to do that change. The info is stored as an XML blob and is set per user, so for each row in that table you will need to read the row, work out if it's for a user, read the XML blob and work out if it is set already, if not insert the text somewhere in the value and make very sure you haven't made a mistake else you will break a lot of things.
Blackboard say it's a planned feature so would be wise to wait
Hi Joe Sepulveda,
Out of curiosity, what did your team end up doing to implement "Group by Term" as default, if anything?
We're in the same boat, and just unearthed this huge limitation on the Bb side
