Viewport in <head>

Hi all,

we are working on a Student Portal (single sign on webpage with university mail, Blackboard and other student services) and stumbled upon an issue with iOS devices: In our Student Portal project we are making Blackboard responsive for smaller (mobile) screens and only on iOS devices it doesn't render exactly as we would like. We did some tests and we need this in the <head>:

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0; user-scalable=1;">

We would like to know:

- can we add this to the index.html of Blackboard without risking any known problems?

- can we add this to the index.html of Blackboard without risking it to be overwritten everytime we do an upgrade of Blackboard?

- Does it even work in Blackboard?

I hope someone has tried this as well (or even knows more about it),

regards,
