I've developed a building block that allows a user to upload an attachment. My question is: What is the best location to keep these attachments?
Hi Belal, I don't have a good answer for you off the top of my head, but I have a few questions that may help ... What are the attachments being used for? Under what circumstances might they need to be re-accessed, downloaded, or manipulated? Who (what role) should be allowed to upload an attachment? Who (what role) should be allowed to access the file?
I've developed a Help Desk BB where a user can create tickets and upload attachments.
The attachments are used for tickets.
These attachments must be kept - roughly- forever.
All Blackboard users can create tickets and upload files.
The uploaded attachments can be accessed by users who uploaded them and the Help Desk staff.
The file permissions might make things tricky, but your best bet is probably to simply use the Content Collection to host the files and set the permissions accordingly. Do you have the Content Management license?
