We're having an odd error when a student tries to get an achievement loaded into their Mozilla Backpack.
Anyone have any ideas?
Firefox & Chrome were tested.
We had this issue and raised it with support who gave us a database query to fix it, or ticket was #01978082. I won't post the fix just in case it's not relevant for your environment so would be best to contact BB support, but feel free to reference our ticket. BB has a KB artcile about this here: https://blackboard.secure.force.com/btbb_articleview?id=kA370000000H3U5 where they say the issue will be fixed in the April 2015 release, which never materialised :~(
I think by achievements you mean the "badge" kind. If you're not using badges then you're using those certificates. Those achievement certificates are SCARY ugly and having a choice of three colors is laughable.
As for badges, it sure gets complicated quick. Issuer, validator, firewall settings, sharing, publishing, backpacks, multiple emails... and that's if you can make it past the mountain of information on how awesome it all is to use...(ok, ok I get it already but HOW?) I'm stuck in that twilight zone of badge hell... I need an IIS server on my network to be an issuer? Blackboard Learn is the issuer but only to Mozilla Backpack? But that doesn't work cause all we get is an error:
Is it case sensitive? (not for this example) (Yes, I do have a Case open for this issue with BTBB)
If I setup with Credly, for them being the issuer, then I'm setting myself up for constant CSV uploads of the user lists and approving each and every request for a badge...um, no thank you. I'd rather use the LDAP service already on our network. So I do need our own server and how deep does that BadgeKit OS rabbit hole of information go exactly... yikes!
Can anyone point me in the right direction? My crystal ball is on the fritz..
The best point of reference is from Melissa Stange with 20 real world issues (half of which are show stoppers if you ask me):
