My thought is that the tour as presented in the Portfolio system is a smart way of introducing the user to new features/functionalities.
Last time I checked Ultra, they had annoying first-time experience (FTE) bubbles that would pop up any time you navigated somewhere you hadn't been before. Those would tell you how to do even the most basic tasks on the page. Did you not see any of these?
I thought I remember somewhere that they plan to do this. Maybe all the demos were of accounts who have already logged in.
Rick - do you mean like a video tutorial?
No just check out your Portfolio system, create a new Portfolio than you will get the attached screen.
I understand that we have some opportunities to tour the new features - check out http://try.blackboard.com/ for a chance to play with the Ultra experience, or see what you can do about getting into one of the preview/pilot cohorts for providing feedback to Bb (the details of which I am fuzzy on - not sure whether these are organized yet).
Hi Rachel, This I know.
Which is great (don't get me wrong) but my question is for the ordinary user/usage, so not to explore in advance.
But simply, a user ends up somewhere, and needs to know how a feature functions, in that case a "Take the tour" button would be ideal for the user to get acquainted to the feature.
Hi Matt, This I did not notice before, but indeed that would do the trick
Thanks for the feedback.
