Does anyone have any interest in starting a regional or national Design / Develop Group? ... I doubt we would want to use D&D as the acronym. It might be a venue to share ideas and solutions that could make our lives a little less hectic.

Hi Raymond,
I think it would be nice to have an Instructional Design group here on the community. I am sure Marissa Dimino would be happy to set on up for you to get it started. Then community members who identify themselves with instructional design and course development could join. I would suggest building up the group and then maybe see if there was interest in a online or in person group meeting. Maybe a meeting at BbWorld16.
Best, Melissa
What Melissa said Raymond Akey! Happy to discuss this group and how we should structure conversations. I think at the National level sounds like a great place to start. We definitely want to create a space for educators to share tips and tricks and resources.
There used to be a "Birds of a Feather" session for instructional designers at Bb World, and it was usually well-attended, too. I helped facilitate it a couple of times and showed some example course designs just to start the conversation. I don't know what session evaluations showed (if there were any), but the sharing was great.
Check out the exemplary course program space for a lot of resources on design. A lot of people in the program are actually instructional designers and you can start specific design discussions there, too, while Marissa gets the other group set up.
I would be extremely interested in the D&D group I'll even bring a D6! You'll have to see my saving throw versus pedagogy. Seriously though, count me in.
Great idea everyone, we're on the same page! We have been working with our platform provider to update the site architecture to provide clearer, easier and faster access to the discussion group you want to participate in (instructional design, educator, system admin, etc). I would love feedback as we make these changes so we can get it right the first time. Stay tuned over the next month!
