Since Blackboard introduced grade display standardisation, grades are truncated (to five decimal places) instead of rounded.
This tends to result in a loss of 0.00001% in weighted total columns (presumably because the truncation occurs at each calculation step) so that you end up with results like 49.99999% instead of 50%. Apart from being untidy, this is relevant at grade cut-offs (e.g. when 50% is the lowest passing grade).
This could maybe be fixed by preserving a greater degree of precision behind the scenes, or just by going back to rounding rather than truncating these grades.
Perhaps rounding vs truncation could be incorporated in some more general decimal grade display settings.
