On the institution page in Ultra a grey gradient is applied to the uploaded banner. I understood that the only reason for it is that the white text will be better visible. But at the same time it ruins the display of the image. As a system admin, when I want a gradient, I can include it in the banner myself. But now I don't get what I intend with my image, because that gradient is automaticly applied, even when I don't want it.
In general I consider the options to adjust the institution page header quite patronizing. If I don't want that central text I can't get rid of it. There's no option to use no text. Same thing with the logo. If you don't want a logo displayed you need to create a transparent image in order to get rid of that logo.
For something that is controlled by the system admin I wonder why it is set up in a way that it is made for someone with minimal IT skills.
