When content collection items are linked to from within Ultra courses, they open in a new tab/window, rather than within a peek panel, which is Blackboard's name for the overlays that result in that 'sheaf of pages' look that Ultra promotes. The latter is the default behaviour for LTI links (although optional). So it is inconsistent that it doesn't behave this way for content collection items, particularly for mimetypes that would naturally be displayed in the browser such as PDFs, images or HTML pages.
This is a primarily an aesthetic issue - it was one of the promises of Ultra that navigation would be intuitive via this peek-panel paradigm, and the user would never need to leave the tab/window. Especially on mobile, it can be confusing for students who are not accustomed to tabbed-browsing (which is surprisingly common).
Could you please add the option to allow content collection items to appear in a peek panel? I would even go so far as to suggest it should be the default setting.
