The use of the Blackboard Journal tool is a continuous reflective and supportive dialogue between tutor and student is a common occurrence at our institution. Students are encouraged to engage with this tool in many different ways and in most cases the tutor participates in this reflective account, offering words of support, encouragement and more. Often they may want to direct the student to links, resources or other materials that help with the objective, which may include templates or additional support material.
It would be very useful if the plain text field was extended to become a full content editor to allow for greater use of this space.
