The survey tool has this built-in principle that I fully agree with, the inability to see the responses from individual users. However, the Grade Center kind of negates this principle when it shows exactly who has responded to a survey. If you pay enough attention you could easily deduce the individual responses by comparing the aggregated results of the survey before and after user X has responded to the survey.
Please improve the way surveys are presented in the Grade Center so we can (perhaps at least choose to) no longer see if individual users have responded.

There is a reason why the Grade Center displays a green check mark when a survey is complete -- to let the student know that s/he has completed this task.
If, as an instructor, you do not wish to see who has responded while the survey is in progress, hide this column from yourself -- Control Panel, Grade Center, Full Grade Center, Manage Column Organization, check the box next to the desired column, click on Show/Hide, Hide, Submit.
You can show the column after the survey is complete and download the results. Although you will be able to see who did or did not respond, you will not be able to associate specific responses with students.
