Our college is made up of several different regionals. We are attempting to make our exams the same across all classes on all campuses. We will be doing in depth test item analysis. We have to all keep our exams identical to run the test item analysis as it is now. I would like to be able to teach my competencies in a different order, but to keep our exams identical we will not have that autonomy. If we could run our test item analysis by competency: by labeling each of our questions within that particular competency, we would be able to still have autonomy with our teaching, while still doing thorough test item analysis. It would be an easier way of breaking the item analysis up.
