Our nursing faculty would like to see a feature added to the inline grading rubrics that allows the instructor to opt-out of grading on a chosen criterion, such as an "N/A" level of achievement. When the instructor selects the "N/A" option, the student's grade calculation is not lowered. The rubric could then adjust itself to grade based on only the point-carrying achievement-level selections.
Our nursing faculty would use this to evaluate student performance and behavior during clinical evaluations, which can be dynamic in nature. Not all benchmarks listed in the rubric may be present in the clinical environment.
