I'd like to start this Idea thread to capture the features we want to see as Box View continues building it
Being able to freehand draw on the student submission.
Student and instructor can download annotated document with all comments & markup, with essentially one click. (as opposed to multiple screen caps)
Student and instructor can view in the online interface (as well as download) annotated document with all comments and markup without having to click on each comment separately.
I posted already an idea here:
Provide parity of functionality between new Box view and Crocodoc view
"With the new Box view marking interface some features that were in Crocodoc will not be available, in particular:
- students / staff will not be able to download a PDF of the annotated document, they can only download the original submission (useful for providing an independent record of feedback)
- staff will not be able to use the same annotation features e.g. free drawing (this is particularly useful for STEM subjects who like to draw over student submissions (e.g. formulae / diagram / charts)
To ensure equivalence of experience, particularly in view of the change being made half way through the traditional academic year, moving users over to an interface that misses key features of the previous interface is a suboptimal experience and likely to arouse negative feedback from our users."
"suboptimal experience and likely to arouse negative feedback from our users"...
IOW, they are likely to be lighting torches and sharpening pitchforks...
The torches and pitchforks...that is what I suggested when this hit us (by surprise, I might add) in January!
add comments without having to click the comment button every time,
strikeout or cross out - lets you strike through a word or group of words that should be removed,
ability to print annotations,
choose colors to highlight with and to mark with,
ability to comment and mark on all file types that can be displayed.
