The way in which Blackboard manages group discussions in the Grade Book is unnecessarily complicated. If an instructor wants groups to have the same discussions, they have to not only duplicate the discussion forums in each of the group discussion boards, they also have to deal with the numerous resulting columns, have to make students in the other groups exempt for those columns, and navigate the columns to grade student participation in each forum. Add to all of this the fact that group discussion forums cannot be linked in the course content like the main discussion forums.
There has got to be a way to create, deploy, and grade group discussion forums as a single discussion.
