Currently, the file upload for student assignments is just a simple file upload. As such, the upload must be completed in one go, and there's no 'smarts' to do something along the lines of resuming a partially uploaded file (say if a connection dropped out part way through an upload).
Our institution has a large number of students on very slow/low bandwidth connections (Australian internet connections) where a 1 gigabyte file upload would take considerable time.
Can measures be implemented to support large file uploads over varying quality internet connections e.g. ability to upload as a background task so as to not timeout, fail gracefully, start again from a point of failure etc?
