Need a 'prompt' to remind the Moderator to start the recording in a session. The option to Start Recording is hidden away in the Sessions menu and can be easily forgotten.
Yes - there is a popup reminder in Collaborate Original - something similar in Ultra would reduce the potential to forget to record
I agree, that the "Start Recording" button should be much more visible. As "complete log" session recording is sometimes a must, consider the idea: "Automated recording starting with the first user joininng the room and stopping with the last leaving".
Just to mention: The visual notification reminder " Start recording?" in Collaborate Classic is often a headache, because it is set on by default
This leads to many unintended recordings of 5-10 sec length.
Failing use case:Teacher wants to promote a student with all permissions in order to give the stage for the next minutes. With these extended permissions this student gets the "Start recording?" reminder and misunderstands that like this "Uh teacher wants me to start recording" We have seen these kind of useless recordings, where the reminder triggers a start and the teacher needs to emergency interrupt by pressing stop. Not the best way to give the stage to a student, who is not familiar with the full permission interface.
I therefore vote for a smarter reminder than implemented in Collaborate Classic:
Remind all user joining with moderator rights, but don't remind any user, who gets moderator permissions granted during the session.
Alternatively, the session owner should be able to configure reminding:
Session settings should consist 4 recording options
I agree about making this more obvious or folks with either forget or especially if new be spending time trying to find the recording button.
I did see that there is a Collaborate Roadmap Survey out but perhaps you could also mention this in the comments area.
