Chat conversation of recorded session:

Due to the volume of questions and answers chat is sadly truncated.

Lee McMinn, GTC

10:54 AM

I would like to have the extra slides.

Annette Ingram

10:54 AM

q: In Content Collection what are the Internal files

Denise Woolsey (Wilmington Univ.)

10:54 AM

Deletions via the orphaned content process noted on slide 16 are time-intensive due to non-linked files.  What steps can I take to get assistance from the DB Team to blow away all orphaned content for me, not only certain types, such as protected files?  E.g. I have 1 course with over 5 Tbs of orphaned content displaying in the GUI (I realize due to the de-dupe process it is not really 5 Tbs, but there are hundreds – if not thousands - of folders to delete.  I used SIS Framework for the course deletion.)

Millie Serna

10:55 AM

I would also like an answer to Mike's question.

Ren Rodee -> WCTC

10:55 AM

Does Bulk delete remove content? my understanding is no

Annette Ingram

10:55 AM

Yes

Millie Serna

10:55 AM

Q - Files moved from legacy to content management > does this affect the links to the front end? (Student accessing content)

Annette Ingram

10:55 AM

Yes - /internal/courses

Lee McMinn, GTC

10:56 AM

Is there any way to move legacy files to course files at the Admin level? Maybe to batch or do this for all courses?

Annette Ingram

10:56 AM

Right but some of the courses are no longer on the system

Annette Ingram

10:56 AM

and they contain files

Annette Ingram

10:56 AM

And they aren't in the orphan content

Lee McMinn, GTC

10:56 AM

We have over 6000 courses with 1B or greater legacy files.

Annette Ingram

10:57 AM

Ok...I will open a ticket

MH-ClientCare

10:57 AM

@Lee - please open a case

Lee McMinn, GTC

For training sessions such as these in order to demonstrate attendance for training and development purposes for staff... is there a certificate from Bb that we can download/print for records purposes?

joe

10:59 AM

ok

MH-ClientCare

10:59 AM

@MCU - Good question - I will take this feedback to Management.

Kim Huang -Princeton U

10:59 AM

How to use SIS Framework to delete courses?

Denise Woolsey (Wilmington Univ.)

11:00 AM

I was told by Support I had to perform the deletions but will try again.  Thank you, Michael!

Denise Woolsey (Wilmington Univ.)

11:01 AM

No, I meant time-intensive for me to perform the deletions.

Tim

11:02 AM

In the GUI - Data Integration>Data Sources>Purge Records, where records are courses. Does this remove content? Or does it create orphaned content?

Denise Woolsey (Wilmington Univ.)

11:02 AM

Thanks again, Michael.

11:03 AM

I am also interested in how to delete large number of courses with content without having to use the gui

Lee McMinn, GTC

11:03 AM

Is Bb saying that legacy files are not de-duplicated? In other words, if it gets copied into another course, then the amount of legacy content was just doubled because of the copy.

Ren Rodee -> WCTC

11:04 AM

Lee, Yup
