This year the conversations around accessibility at BbWorld were at an all time high. I've been around Blackboard, as a designer who cares deeply about accessibility, for 9 years now. I've seen many peaks and valleys in the accessibility communities over the years but this year was incredible. There was a lot of genuine desire to collaborate on building accessible curriculum and a great deal of passion in the experiences, both positive and negative, that you all shared. Several of you gave incredibly well received sessions which sparked so many conversations at the accessibility knowledge bar. It was a great thing to be a part of.

In the past there have been segregated accessibility communities around our different products (Collaborate, Learn and even Moodlerooms) but this year brings everyone together under one virtual roof with a new community program that was launched at BbWorld. I am so excited to welcome you all to this new accessibility community. This is a group that crosses every product line and can truly have a positive impact on Blackboard's New Learning Experience and on digital accessibility as a whole. I am looking forward to sharing information with all of you, learning from your experiences and building highly accessible experiences around teaching and learning. This is an open group so please share widely with folks you think will be interested in joining the conversation.
