I’m pleased to present some great new enhancements to Blackboard Collaborate that focus on increasing visibility during an educational session.
We’ve added iconography indicators to help you understand who is speaking, and to identify who has their microphone on. When someone is speaking, you’ll see a black microphone near their name. When someone has their mic on but isn’t speaking, you’ll see a white mic, and we’ve made it easy to see who is having audio feedback, too.
We’ve also made it clear about the network status. When participants are in the process of joining, you’ll see a purple ring around their avatar, and a clear message describing their status. Recent additions to the session are clearly identified, and if participants are having network trouble, their avatar will indicate the problem, and a message with indicate the problem.
We’ve also added guidance moments to make some advanced capabilities clearer. You can dial into a Blackboard Collaborate session when you are on the go. When you choose to use your phone rather than your mic, you’ll see an indicator that you are leveraging your mobile device for audio.
We hope you enjoy and benefit from these enhancements to Blackboard Collaborate. To learn more, check out our monthly Collaborate Update newsletter.
