Topic: Introducing Blackboard Data
Description: This session with provide a basic overview of BbData and its applications, as well as time for Q&A.
Presenter: Steve Bailey (Senior Product Marketing Manager, Analytics at Blackboard, Inc.)
Session Link: Bb Collaborate
Will this session pertain only to Bb SaaS and ULTRA customers or does it apply to Managed and Self-Hosted customers as well? Additionally, will there be any discussion regarding the differences between Bb Data, Bb Analytics (A4L), and Bb Predict? With all the data analytics pieces now offered by the Blackboard vendor, I'm a bit confused as to what each does and what it should be used for? It would be nice to see some type of matrix or grid comparing the different products so we know what each one offers and which one might be the best fit for our needs.
I asked for a very high-level, general overview of the tool and some time for Q&A. I'm not real familiar with Bb Data myself at this point, so I think your questions about he differences between Data, Analytics, and Predict would be appropriate to ask during this type of introductory presentation.
Maybe our presenter, Steve Bailey, and/or. Joel Diamant (who also appears to be attending from Blackboard) could weigh in on what they plan to cover up front. However, at the very least, there will be some time for those in attendance to ask some general questions.
I hope that helps!
Hi Chris, let me respond to each question individually:
to Adam Authier's point (thanks Adam for tagging me in), there will be time for questions and I'm keen to hear them.
Looking forward to this session. Thanks!
Is this going to be recorded please? We've got interest at our institution but i'm struggling to find any information so usually i'd join and listen but it's 5am here.
Yes. We always record our meet-ups and make them available in the "Monthly Online Meet-ups" folder on the MiBUG Community page.
