Northumbria is a research-rich, business-focused, professional university with a global reputation for academic excellence located in the North East of England with campuses in London and Amsterdam and a growing distance learning community. We have over 25,000 students and 1,400 members of Academic staff.
The scale and scope of change required to support staff and students in a move to a new Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) mean that getting it right at the beginning avoids difficulty further down the road. Rolling out a new VLE, especially one that few other institutions use, provides a number of opportunities, but with any large scale change, managing expectation, training and communication is key to successful implementation and adoption.
Northumbria proposes to share some experiences on their move to Blackboard Ultra course view.
The presentation will explore:
• The plan and transition options
• The challenges
• The successes
• The future
