Supporting Assessment Transformation With Peer Feedback
LISA RANSOM & SHEN ZHANG | AUCKLAND UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
At Auckland University of Technology, there was a demand from academic staff to find simple solutions for students’ self reflection, and peer feedback on their group project reports.We needed solutions that allowed:
- Easy interface for students to place peer-to-peer feedback;
- Simple for staff to: set up student evaluations, view progress status, and produce reports for results analysis;
- Integrated into Blackboard.
iPeer is one of the tools that we adopted to cover these needs. The Learning Technology team piloted iPeer with a group of lecturers - with very positive responses from not only academic staff, but also students. It has now been adopted in a number of departments.
We will highlight other examples of tools/technologies used by lecturers for peer feedback.
This presentation will feature some of our successes stories and feedback from staff and students.
