2018 MiBUG Distinguished Member Award Announcement

The Michigan Blackboard Users Group and Blackboard, Inc. would like to extend their congratulations to Dr. Elena Qureshi from Madonna University for being named the 2018 MiBUG Distinguished Member. The award was presented to her at the Spring Conference at Central Michigan University on May 18, 2018. Here are just a few of the things that those who nominated Elena had to say:

 

"Elena implemented Quality Matters standards to a variety of Blackboard courses in a manner that allowed faculty to incorporate innovative teaching approaches into their curriculum.”

 

“Under the leadership of Elena, 100% of our courses now have a Blackboard course shell, and faculty have been taught how to populate the shell with the relevant content, irrespective of the modality.”

 

“Elena has created a culture of inclusiveness, ensuring all faculty can receive Blackboard training, both adjunct and full time. She has ensured that 100% of all new faculty are Blackboard trained and certified.”

 

“Dr. Elena Qureshi exemplifies the best characteristics of leaders in  education. Her knowledge of Blackboard and other platforms as well as her ability and willingness to seek and utilize the most current innovative practices and software is truly impressive.”
