The learning management system (LMS) is a critical technology for nearly all institutions of higher education. However, LMSs, such as Blackboard Learn, are not a given in traditional face-to-face courses. Discussed in this session is the pedagogical use of Blackboard Learn in traditional face-to-face courses from real life experiences of higher education instructors through stories. Based on a qualitative narrative inquiry research study, the presenter will discuss results from data collected at a large, primarily residential higher education institution. The results from the study might help instructors realize the educational potential of Blackboard Learn for teaching and learning to enhance traditional face-to-face courses.
