In this session, presenters will share their journey of how the school expanded access to Blackboard to include K-12 parents. They will define what is meant by parent access and the permission settings and tools available that are critical to this definition. Expectations for teachers to post classroom lessons materials, homework assignments, and other class information on their class calendar as well as in course units were already in place and this allowed for an easy transition to parent access. The school's communication strategy to parents informing them of their ability to view content in their child's courses was vital to the school's success. Presenters will also share challenges they faced along the way when enabling parent view.
